Once again, and for a limited
time only, one of the hottest combos in club sound entertainment is back
- this time bootleggin' and mashing up Bastard Pop to cram the faithful
into their live DJ shows along with those outside the fold.
Cuing up an encore revival of the Boogie Hill Faders, count on fugitive beat bandit DJ aliases Nitro and Big D to deliver a throbbing mix-mash of hot party tracks in rhythmic, dance-inspired house music; bottle-fed at the Asylum Club in London and bottom-powdered at Flyer for Bootie in San Francisco.
Representing a fresh blend of the
most infectious and eclectic styles - both sexy and edgy - the ageless
dynamic duo are lending a huge energy-charged riff to late-night fare.
To get a party crowd busting through your doors and up and going, expect
solid grooves, multi-layered arrangements and innovative studio mixes from these immortal turntable heavy-hitters.
With such a vast wealth of content,
there's a little of something for everyone: nostalgia for those who
recall the originals, sing-a-long hooks for fans of modern and
old-school rap, an anarchistic attitude and element of danger for the
rock'n'roll aesthetic, and enough uber-precise slicing and dicing of the
latest club hits to thrill the kiddie wannabe DJs they've lured to your
shop that night.
Masters of the latest frontiers in
electronic dance music and its rapidly changing technology, Nitro and
Big D don't just play the mashups and remixes, they create them from
their mindboggling music credentials and leading-edge club scene
If you've never heard the Boogie Hill Faders
perform live, chances are... you've already heard their ageless mixes,
remixes and mashups from the DJ playing at your local club or hotspot.
Their music is featured on Crooklyn Clanʼs CRACK4DJS.NET, one of only a
select few Canadian DJs that are featured, and many of their releases
are in the all time TOP 10. Most recently, BHF teamed up with the MTV
Love Fest Tour as a featured headliner and artist, were a nominee for
"DJ Remix of the Year" at the Stylus DJ Awards, and are also the
official club DJs for the Calgary Flames (NHL) and Calgary Roughnecks
THE STORY SO FAR...
Manifestations of the Boogie Hill Faders go as far back as the early 1930s during the prohibition era in New York City when two after-hours dance club musicians - one an engineer who dabbled in hydrosonics, the other a big band leader and percussionist
- broke into a mysterious Rockfeller warehouse looking for a cache of
booze, and in a box discovered a primitive synthesizer which generated a
sound frequency arrangement that rendered them immortal - a veritable
'Fountain of Youth' through sound.
The Faders went into hiding when
wealthy industrialists of the time got wind of the discovery and tried
to secret any new naturopath healing knowledge that the sounds could
provide, and might ruin their profitable monopoly in pharmaceuticals.
Forever young - not a day older than
that fateful night in 1933 - the musicians-turned-DJs have since
covertly popped in and out of the globe's club culture scene veiled
under different pseudonyms. When the heat is on, and the music
bootlegging bandits are just short of being caught - they fade into the
shadows of their secret studio location to further hone their craft and
prepare for the next movement in club sound entertainment. All that is
left, everytime, is their music.
Club music genres come and go but the undying Faders will live a thousand lifetimes to revolutionize every generation's nightclub scene. Paying it forward on a Green Mile of club cultures - from the Whisky à Gogo in Paris in 1947; to New York's Peppermint Club in 1962; to the Afro-American cake walk of Soul Train in the early '70s; to the cocaine-fueled dance floor of Manhattan's Studio 54; (the origin of the Boogie Hill label) and the blood-thirsty brawls of Punk in the mid-'70s; to the vibrant nightclub scene of The Blitz in London in the 1980s; and moshes with nasty Grunge kids from mid-'80s Seattle - the beat goes on for the everlasting Boogie Hill Faders.
Eternal party starters and music
alchemists, the minstrels of one-night stands and soul-mate connections
know how to hold dance floors and make a club crowd jump. Always in on
the cutting edge, the recent incarnation of the Boogie Hill Faders will
vanish before the newest club trend becomes a music cliché.
If you haven't had a chance to book their show for your dance crowd, you better move quickly
